Thanks for using PlugMate ("we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website at https://www.myplugmate.com and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are a minor in your jurisdiction, you may use the Services only with permission from a parent or guardian.

When you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account. Use a strong password and keep your credentials secure.

PlugMate is intended for individual job seekers building and managing their own professional profiles and CVs. Commercial or unauthorized bulk use of the platform is not permitted unless we agree in writing.

We are not liable for loss or damage arising from your failure to keep your account secure.

You are solely responsible for the information you enter into the Services, including personal details, employment history, education, and other CV content.

You represent that you have the right to use and share the content you submit and that it does not infringe the rights of others or violate applicable law.

We may review content to determine whether it violates our policies and may remove content that we reasonably believe is abusive, fraudulent, or otherwise harmful. We do not routinely monitor all user content.

You retain ownership of your CV content. You grant us a limited licence to host, process, display, and transmit your content as needed to operate the Services (for example, saving drafts, generating PDFs, or sending data to AI features you request).

PlugMate may offer AI-assisted features to help draft or refine professional summaries and employment duties. These suggestions are meant to assist you—not replace your judgment.

AI outputs are based on patterns in data and may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all content before using it in a CV or sharing it with others.

We do not sell your personal data to AI model providers. When you use AI features, relevant CV context may be sent to our infrastructure and third-party AI services to generate suggestions.

AI features do not guarantee employment outcomes, interview success, or acceptance by employers.

Some features, such as downloading your CV, may require an active paid subscription. Subscription plans, prices, and billing intervals are shown in the app before you purchase.

Payments are processed by PayFast or other payment partners we designate. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges according to the plan you select until you cancel.

We may change prices on reasonable notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing for subsequent billing periods.

Downgrading or cancelling may limit access to paid features. We are not liable for loss of access resulting from plan changes you initiate.

You may cancel your subscription from your account area before the next billing date to avoid future charges. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless stated otherwise in the app.

You are responsible for cancelling before renewal if you no longer need the Service. We may not be able to process cancellation requests sent only by informal email.

Fees already paid for a billing period in which you used paid features are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or where we determine a technical issue on our side prevented proper cancellation.

Trial or promotional pricing must be used within the stated period. Cancel before the promotional period ends if you do not wish to be charged the regular rate.

You agree not to misuse the Services. Prohibited conduct includes: attempting unauthorised access; scraping or automated abuse; uploading malware; impersonating others; harassing users or staff; or using the Services for unlawful purposes.

You may not interfere with the security or performance of the Services or attempt to circumvent subscription or access controls.

We may suspend or restrict access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.

You may stop using the Services at any time. You may delete your account through account settings where that option is available, or by contacting us.

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you breach these Terms, create risk for other users, or if required by law.

Upon termination, your right to use the Services ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.

Your personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services.

Our total liability for claims relating to the Services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred US dollars (or local equivalent), unless a higher minimum is required by law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which PlugMate operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and PlugMate regarding the Services and supersede prior agreements on the same subject.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will try to provide reasonable notice (for example, by email or an in-app notice) before they take effect.

The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were last revised. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

If you do not agree to updated Terms, stop using the Services.
